Default Accounts merging in GW2?

One often request feature some time ago was the possibility of merging two Guild Wars accounts. After some time Gaile Gray mentioned that merging accounts was not possible and the feature would never see the day.

I was wondering if GW2 would actually allow us to do such a thing. I know it's a long shot but I'm sure a lot of people would love a feature such as this.

If GW2 comes with enough character slots to try all classes, and/or has the ability to buy additional character slots, it should be a non-issue, since the main reason why people had more than one account on GW was for the extra 4 slots so they could try more classes, etc..

They sort of fixed that by allowing the purchase of more slots in GW(1), but unfortunately, that did nothing for those who had already gotten additional accounts. In those less common situations where someone wants to merge someone else's account with their own, it's also unfortunate, but I can foresee all sorts of problems arising from stolen accounts being merged.
